Today is Amanda Terkel's first day at the Huffington Post. Terkel told Think Tanked that she will be a senior political reporter intensely covering the midterms until November.
Terkel seems geared up for the new challenge, but perhaps a little sad about leaving her position as Deputy Research Director at American Progress and Managing Editor for ThinkProgress at the Center for American Progress, calling it "an invaluable experience."
For me -- and many others -- it's like going back to college and learning about how government works, the intricacies of so many policy areas, and the functioning of an effective communications team. I was honored to work with so many talented progressives, and it's been exciting to see ThinkProgress.org go from a small start-up blog to a political powerhouse.
Terkel will report to Nico Pitney, National News Editor at the Huffington Post, who has also been Deputy Research Director at the Center for American Progress and Managing Editor of ThinkProgress.
And for those of you who don't remember, if this didn't shake Terkel's interest in joining the media, nothing will.

Maybe Terkel can stalk O'Reilly now that she's a reporter. Wait, wait...I imagine that to be too painful an experience. Never mind.
